This was my FIRST time trying Thai food and I am so happy this was the restaurant I picked for my first experience. Everything was incredible and I’m honestly upset that I’ve been missing out for so long ! The Pad Thai was hot and tasted so good ! Never had anything like it! The crab ran-goons were also so good perfect amount of filling and even the sauce that they come with was so good! Thank you so much for such an amazing meal! I will be ordering again in the future!

Our server was attentive and prompt. The Thai Tea and Thai Coffee were both good, and coconut milk was an option for dairy sensitive people like myself. The food came out very quickly, the portions were generous and the flavor was so good! Fresh bean sprouts, lime, green onions, and crushed peanuts garnished the Pad Thai and there was lots of flavor from the noodles and sauce. The Rainbow Paradise was a tasty dish too and had more of a tropical vibe with pineapple & mango. I will definitely be stopping again when I am in the area!

Flavors were very good. The food came out quickly, piping hot and not over or under cooked. We got the appetizer sampler. The chicken satay was awesome. A big appetizer, two entrees and a dessert between us.

My go-to place for Thai food, it NEVER disappoints! Steamed chicken dumplings are delicious. Service is attentive, and the food comes out in a timely manner. Update: You have to try the Pad See Ew, and the Orange Chicken is a huge portion!

Having just moved to Grand Rapids from the vibrant food scene of Chicago, we set out on a quest to find a Thai restaurant that could satisfy our cravings. After hearing countless recommendations for Lai Thai, we decided to give it a go—and we couldn’t be happier that we did! From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere welcomed us. It was clear we were not alone in our choice; we noticed a steady stream of customers coming in for takeout, a testament to the restaurant's popularity. Now, let’s talk about the food. We ordered the green curry with tofu and the beef basil stir-fry, and both dishes were nothing short of spectacular. The green curry was a delightful explosion of flavors, with just the right amount of spice, creamy coconut milk, and perfectly cooked tofu that soaked up all the deliciousness. The beef basil stir-fry was equally impressive—tender beef, vibrant vegetables, and a fragrant basil sauce that had us savoring every bite. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, making each dish a true flavor bomb. And the best part? The prices were remarkably reasonable, especially given the high quality of the food. The service was another highlight of our experience. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive, making us feel right at home as we settled into our new city. In a nutshell, Lai Thai has quickly become our go-to for Thai cuisine in Grand Rapids. If you’re in the area and craving something delicious, do yourself a favor and visit Lai Thai—you won’t be disappointed!

This is 100% the best Thai food in Grand Rapids and it’s not even close. I’ve had my fair share of Thai food throughout Michigan and this is the only place that gets the flavors correct. We don’t go to any other place.
